976nm Pump Source Technology

While most manufacturers use 915nm pump sources (easier thermal management, lower cost), STRION LASER employs 976nm pump technology. This wavelength achieves 85% electro-optical conversion efficiency compared to ~70% for 915nm. The result: higher output for the same electrical input, slower power degradation over years of service, and lower operating costs.

The challenge of precisely controlling 976nm pump temperature is solved by our proprietary dual-circuit refrigerant cooling — the same system that enables extreme environment operation.

14μm Small-Core Fiber

Conventional water-cooled and air-cooled handheld welders use 20μm or larger core fibers. STR-HW's 14μm core produces superior beam quality with smaller spot diameter and higher energy density. This translates directly to deeper weld penetration — approximately 40% deeper than 20μm systems at equivalent power.

Small-core fiber also naturally reduces return light, providing inherent protection when welding highly reflective materials like aluminum and copper alloys — a common failure point for conventional systems.

Dual-Circuit Refrigerant Direct Cooling

The core innovation behind STR-HW's performance. Compressor-driven refrigerant circulates through two independent cooling circuits, directly contacting laser components. This provides dramatically higher cooling capacity than air-cooled systems and far greater efficiency than water-cooled alternatives.

The dual-circuit design ensures cooling redundancy and rapid thermal response. Even if one circuit experiences reduced efficiency, the second maintains safe operating temperatures. This is why STR-HW is the only handheld welder in its class rated for true 7×24 continuous operation in temperatures from -30°C to 60°C.

All-in-One Integrated Design

Laser source, cooling system, control electronics, and welding gun are engineered as a single integrated system — not assembled from third-party components. This eliminates redundant interfaces, reduces energy losses, minimizes parts count, and improves overall reliability.

At just 38-70kg depending on model, STR-HW is significantly lighter than water-cooled alternatives (typically 80kg+). The welding gun weighs under 600g, reducing operator fatigue during extended use.

Pre-Set Welding Process Packages

Pre-configured parameter sets for common materials and thicknesses eliminate guesswork. Operators select the material and thickness, and the machine automatically applies optimized laser power, welding speed, and beam characteristics. Up to 50 built-in process packages depending on model. Even novice welders achieve professional results from day one.
